(MITCHELL) - A vacant home was destroyed this morning in the 400 block of North Third Street.
The fire was reported at 2:46 a.m. The vacant home is owned by Jill Keys.
Both Mitchell and Marion Township Volunteer Fire Departments responded to find the home engulfed in flames.
Mitchell Assistant Fire Chief Fred Cassidy says the state fire marshal will be investigating the cause of the blaze.
Firefighters were able to put the fire out quickly.
