Fire Destroys Mobile Home On Tripleton Pike

Last updated on Tuesday, September 8, 2015

(FAYETTEVILLE) - More than a dozen firefighters battled a blaze that caused major damage to a mobile home in the 800 block of Tripleton Pike Monday afternoon.

Firefighters from Indian Creek and Oolitic Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the blaze just before 2 p.m.

According to Indian Creek VFD Chief Monty Wright, firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the kitchen area.

"The fire was contained to a kitchen nook and part of the kitchen," Wright added. "But there was heat and water damage throughout the home."

No one was home when the blaze started.

"We are not sure if the homeowner's father, who lives on the property or a neighbor noticed the blaze," Wright says. "The woman who lived in the mobile home was at work."

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.

Assisting at the scene was Tabernacle of Praise Emergency Services and an IU Health Hospital ambulance.
