Driver Arrested, 7-Year-Old Injured After Golf Cart Accident

(WASHINGTON) - One person was arrested and a 7-year-old was injured after a golf cart accident Wednesday.

According to police the accident happened at 7:33 p.m.near Troy Road on County Road 250 South.

Police say that a 7-year-old boy was driving the golf cart and his mother was running in front of the cart and his father was running along the side.

Police say a car, driven by 49-year-old Michael McClure of Washington, hit the golf car in the rear causing the boy to be thrown from the golf cart and into a ditch.

He was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes and later transferred to Riley's Children Hospital in Indianapolis.

Mcclure was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing serious bodily injury.
