"Curvaceous Tatas" Bra Decorating Contest To Help Breast Cancer Patients

Last updated on Wednesday, September 16, 2015

(BEDFORD) - Curves and Lawrence County Cancer Patient Services (LCCPS) are hosting their second “Curvaceous Tatas” bra decorating contest to increase awareness and to stress the importance of mammograms during breast cancer month in October.

"Curves' mission is to strengthen woman," says co-owner Debbie Isom. Isom is excited to sponsor this fundraiser while having fun, raising funds, and stressing the importance of good health for women.

LCCPS is a county-wide volunteer group, says Brenda Mckain, secretary for the group, and adds that while the group assists patients with various types of cancer, proceeds from this fundraiser will assist breast cancer patients.

Isom says that bras will be accepted October 7th to October 23rd; voting will begin October 7th and will end on November 4th at noon. Winners will be announced November 4th at 3:30 pm. Bras will be displayed until November 21st and must be picked up before November 25th.

The top 4 winners will receive a prize. The first place winner will also receive a free one-month membership to Curves. Other prizes are donated by Kirlin's Hallmark, Bailey's Flowers, Zee candles, The Island Bath & Body, Zakiyah candles, and each entrant will receive pink ribbon yogurt pretzels from The Warrell Corporation.
Isom and Mckain say "to exercise your imagination and creativity" by building or decorating a bra with your own unique style. Bras can include slogans or titles.

Winners will be determined by the number of tickets voting for the entry. Entries can be created by individuals, groups, or businesses. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00, which can be purchased at Curves. Isom welcomes the public to come and view the creations and vote for their favorite.
