Bloomington Council For Community Accessibility Seeking Nominees For Annual Awards

(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington’s Council for Community Accessibility (CCA) is accepting nominations for its annual awards ceremony.

The awards will recognize individuals, businesses and organizations that make the community more accessible for people with disabilities and will be presented at the CCA Annual Awards Ceremony on Monday, Oct. 26, at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 100 North State Road 46 Bypass at 6:30 p.m.

The CCA advocates on behalf of people with disabilities, promoting awareness and working to develop solutions to problems of accessibility in the community. The speaker for the evening will be Dr. David Mank, Director of the Indiana Institute on Disability and Community, and he will speak on "Employment for People with Disabilities: New Possibilities Are Emerging."

"The dedicated members of the CCA continue to work to improve Bloomington's accessibility to individuals with disabilities," said Mayor Mark Kruzan. "This is definitely an achievement that we can all celebrate and recognize the time, effort and commitment of people who are constantly working to better their community."

Nominations may be submitted online at bloomington.in.gov/cca. The deadline for submitting nominations is October 9, 2015.
