(BLOOMFIELD) - A cultural icon will come to an end when Hunter’s Drive-In, located west of Bloomfield, will close its doors after 36 years of business.
On Saturday, patrons will have just one more chance to visit Hunter's and order a Hi-Decker, before the business will change its name.
The Greene County Daily World reports that on Monday evening, paperwork was finalized for the sale of the restaurant to the owners of Crossroads Cafe, located on the east side of the county. Bruce Isenogle, owner of Hunter's, says the new owners didn't want the name, but to purchase the building and equipment.
As for the rest of the menu and the famous Hi-Decker, it will be up to the new owner's discretion whether or not it will be offered.
Isenogle wants to thank everyone who has supported Hunter's over the years. Prior to owning Hunter's, Isenogle once worked as an employee at Hunter's during his high school years.
Isenogle and his wife plan on taking a couple of months to relax before working a standard 40 hour per week job.
The last day of operation under the Hunter's name will be Saturday. There will be a limited menu, but Isenogle says there will be plenty of burgers and fries to go around.
