Last updated on Wednesday, September 30, 2015

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford woman was arrested after she broke into an apartment at Thomasson Court Saturday.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, 23-year-old Chelsea Edington was arrested on a charge of burglary, theft and resisting arrest.

According to police, Edington allegedly broke into the rear door of the apartment, cooked herself a pot pie and helped herself to some juice.

When police arrived just after 8:30 p.m. they found Edington sitting on the front porch eating the pot pie.

Edington told police she knew the resident and had permission to enter the home. But when police contacted the resident who was in Bloomington, they found she didn't know Edington and had given no one permission to be in her apartment.

When officers went to place Edington in handcuffs she refused to cooperate and officers had to physically restrain her.
