Bedford Teen Suffers Minor Injuries After Bicycle Struck By Vehicle

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford teen was injured after his bicycle was struck by a vehicle Saturday afternoon.

According to a Bedford Police report, officers were called to M Street between 14th and 15th streets after a reported a teen riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle.

According to police, 57-year-old Tamara Arthur of Mitchell was traveling south on M Street when a 14-year-old boy, who was riding a bicycle west in the alley, shot out in front of Arthur's 2008 General Motors Yukon.

Arthur says she slammed on her brakes, but still struck the teen, knocking him down. The teen then got up and told Arthur he was okay but was going home to get his mother.

Arthur stayed at the scene until police and the teen returned.

The teen complained of knee and foot pain but refused medical attention.

Arthur was not injured.
