(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested after Bedford Police officers found him in the bushes at 16th and L streets Saturday afternoon near CVS Pharmacy.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, when officers arrived at 2:37 p.m. they found 42-year-old David Havill, of 28 Eastlake Drive, between two bushes on the ground near the sidewalk.

"They found a half-empty bottle of vodka and Red Bull Blueberry beside him," Parsley says. "Officers attempted to get Mr. Havill to his feet."

An IU Health Hospital ambulance was called because of his level of intoxication.

"Once he was evaluated he was taken to jail on a charge of public intoxication.
