Three People Injured In Crash On Ind. 37

(MITCHEL) - Three people were injured Saturday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision on Ind. 37 near Wesley Chapel Road.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 58-year-old Gary New of Springville was traveling north on Ind. 37 in a 2003 Ford F-150 when a 1996 Toyota Avalon, driven by 19-year-old William Duncan of Mitchell, pulled into his path.

According to police, Duncan was crossing the northbound lane of Ind. 37 to pull onto Wesley Chapel Road when he failed to yield the right of way and pulled into the path of New's truck.

Duncan complained of head pain. His passenger 17-year-old Candy Lewis of Mitchell complained of stomach and pelvis pain. New complained of knee and foot pain.

Duncan was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
