(BEDFORD) - Former Bedford resident Cheryl Moore Shireman is bringing some of her therapy animals to Bedford Thursday, and then again on September 28.

Shireman and her family operate the Shireman Homestead in Columbus.

On Thursday she and the animals will visit with residents at White River Lodge at 10 a.m and then will head to the First Baptist Church in the 1500 block of 20th Street around noon.

"Our barnyard friends help with many therapeutic and rehabilitative needs in the lives of many people," Shireman says. "We have ongoing educational services at the farm.

Shireman takes in all kinds of animals in need and nurses them back to health.

The farm is home to miniature horses, Belgian draft horses and other full-sized horses, Lipizzan horses, miniature donkeys, pygmy goats, chickens and ducks, rabbits, a pig, a cow, an alpaca, sheep, lambs, rams and more.

More information on the farm can be found at www.shiremanhomestead.com.
