(BEDFORD) - The streetlights on John Williams Boulevard are being installed and is the final piece of the sidewalk project.
Duke Energy says it will be about two weeks before installation is complete and the new street lights are lit.
"I am so pleased to be nearing the finish of this much needed project that is providing a safe place for pedestrians and those utilizing wheelchairs and mobility devices to travel versus being in the street," says Bedford Mayor Shawna Girgis.
Girgis says that in the future this project will be directly connected to the L Street/Lincoln Avenue sidewalk improvement project (urban trail) that will provide a distinct route to Downtown Bedford that is being funded as a part of Bedford's Indiana Stellar Community Initiative.
