(BLOOMFIELD) - Eastern Heights Utilities gave an update on the boil order and the areas where customers are affected which are: Bloomfield customers with account numbers starting in 236 and 237, all Worthington customers (accounts starting with 221 and 222), Rural customers with account numbers starting in 107, 111, 112, 113, 116, 117, 118, and 119.

A press release was issued by Eastern Heights Utilities with an update to the issue.

The advisory said, "In consultation with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, it has been determined that the water customers should boil their drinking water. This precautionary measure is recommended because we are experiencing a drinking water problem within your service area. We collected two distribution samples for coliform bacteria on August 5, 2015, which were positive for E. coli. The standard is no more than one sample may be positive."

Eastern Heights Utilities recommended that all cooking and drinking water be brought to a complete boil for at least five minutes prior to use until further notice.

Until the issue is resolved, they also ask that water be conserved. Please only use what is necessary for your household and personal needs.

Anyone with any questions or concerns should contact the water department at (812) 384-8261.
