Last updated on Monday, August 3, 2015

(SHOALS) - A Shoals woman was arrested after an Indiana State trooper stopped her for a traffic violation Thursday and found narcotics.

The trooper stopped 52-year-old Nina Sherick at 10:25 p.m. on Chicken Farm Road after he witnessed her driving a maroon 1995 Ford truck all over the roadway. At one point, the trooper says Sherick nearly ran off the road.

The trooper believed Sherick was intoxicated, but she refused to take a breathalyzer test.

After being taken to the Martin County Jail, jailers found both meth and marijuana in Sherick's possession.

Sherick is facing charges of possession of meth, possession of marijuana and operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

Trooper Stephen Sexton was assisted at the scene by the Shoals Town Marshall and his K-9, and the Martin County Sheriff's Department.
