(BLOOMFIELD) - An out-of-county jury will hear a case against a Linton man.

Friday morning both the defense and prosecution came to an agreement to seat a jury from another county instead of moving the trial of 33-year-old Aaron Schaffer to another county.

Schaffer, who was acquitted by a jury on a murder charge in March 2015, is now facing four counts including obstruction of justice, auto theft, false informing and criminal mischief.

Schaffer is accused of taking another man's vehicle without permission, parking it and then puncturing all the tires.

Police say he was also behaving suspiciously when confronted by officers and allegedly did not tell the truth when questioned.

Greene County Chief Public Defender Alan Baughman filed a motion for a change of venue claiming Schaffer would not be able to receive a fair trial because of all the media coverage from the previous murder trial and all the media coverage.

Public Defender Baughman and Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Keven McIntosh both signed a stipulation about the change of venue stating they agreed the entire case should not be transferred from Greene County at this time, but agreed that a jury selected from a different county should be impaneled to hear this case.
