Monroe Co. Sheriff's Department Looking For Driver That Fled Scene Of Accident

(BLOOMINGTON) - Monroe County Sheriff Department Deputies are looking for the male driver of a black pickup truck that fled from the scene of an accident on Ind. 446 Monday night.

The accident left two women injured.

According to a police report, officers were called to the accident in the 4700 block of Ind. 446 near the Scenic View Restaurant at 7:30 p.m.

The crash snarled both lanes of traffic on Ind. 446.

Two women in a silver passenger car were transported by ambulances to IU Health Bloomington Hospital. Their names and conditions were not immediately available. One woman had be be freed from the wreckage by firefighters.

One of the women told police that a male driver took off running after the accident.

Firefighters then exhausted their supplies of oil-dry absorbents from two engine trucks to clean fuel from the road.

Anyone with information about the driver is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff's Department.
