Mitchell Man Arrested After Police Find Meth, Pills

(MITCHELL) - A Mitchell man was arrested on drug charges Friday after he was pulled over for a traffic violation.

30-year-old Justin Terrell is facing charges of possession of meth, a legend drug and marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance. He was also charged with driving while his driver's license was suspended with a prior conviction.

According to Lawrence County Chief Deputy Aaron Shoults, officers stopped Terrell at the intersection of Meridian Road and Doc Hamilton Boulevard because he was not wearing a seatbelt.

When the officers asked for his driver's license, Terrell could not produce one.

A police dog, who was accompanying the officer, alerted the officer to possible drugs in the truck.

When the officers asked Terrell to exit the vehicle,the officer witnessed Terrell attempt to hide something under the seat. The officer bound a black bag that contained baggies with residue and substances that field tested positive for meth and marijuana. The officers also found two pill bottles that contained Concerta and Promethazine, both legend drugs. Terrell only had a prescription for one of the two drugs..
