INDOT Announces Road Restrictions For Bridge Projects In Lawrence County

Last updated on Friday, August 7, 2015

(LAWRENCE CO.) - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces road restrictions for two bridge projects for Lawrence County beginning on or around Wednesday.

On State Road 58 near Springville, crews will begin a bridge rehabilitation project on the bridge spanning Spring Creek between Armstrong Station Road and State Road 54.

The road will be restricted during daytime hours while crews apply sealant, replace joints and patch the pavement.

Contractors will also be working on a bridge on State Road 450 near Williams spanning the Indiana Railroad right of way near the intersection of Indian Springs Road.

Workers will also apply sealant, replace joints and patch pavement on this bridge as a part of regularly scheduled maintenance. Restrictions on both bridges will require one lane of traffic to be shut down while crews work during the day.

Traffic will be controlled by flaggers. At the end of the work day traffic will resume normal flow. Both projects are scheduled for completion in mid September, however inclement weather conditions could cause delays.

INDOT urges drivers to slow down and stay alert near crews. For construction updates and traffic alerts, follow INDOT on Facebook at www.facebook.com/INDOTVincennesDistrict and Twitter at www.twitter.com/INDOTSouthwest, or access INDOT's TrafficWise website at http://indot.carsprogram.org.
