Hoosier National Forest Hosts Educational Events In August

(BEDFORD) - The Hoosier National Forest has several opportunities to learn about nature and get outdoors over the summer months.

Programs are planned at Hardin Ridge Recreation Area and Brooks Cabin on the north end of the Forest in Monroe County, and at the Rickenbaugh House in Perry County.

In addition, the Hoosier Outdoor Challenge is underway and families are encouraged to participate.

Hardin Ridge Recreation Area and the Brooks Cabin are both located just off SR 446 in Monroe County. Rickenbaugh House is located in the Indian Celina Recreation Area in Perry County. The recreation area is located just off SR 37 south of I-64. Programs at Brooks Cabin are free. The other programs are also free, although a gate fee of $5/vehicle will be charged at the recreation areas. The Hoosier Outdoor Challenge is an event to get families outdoors and visiting sites around the area. Those who visit at least 10 of the 15 sites win a prize.
