(FREEDOM) - A Freedom family died after suffering serious burns after a fire at their home near Freedom.

43-year-old Dan Reynolds; his wife, 41-year-old Joy Reynolds and her son 11-year-old Bailey Little died from their injuries on Thursday.

According to the Owen County Sheriff's Department, a passer-by reported the fire just after 6 a.m. Wednesday at 2609 Firecrest Lane in Freedom, located off Dunn Road.

Firefighters from Owen Valley, Franklin and Worthington Volunteer Fire Departments rushed to the scene.

The family was able to get out of the house, but not without serious injuries. Both Dan and Joy were flown to the burn unit at Eskenazi Hospital and Bailey was flown to Riley Hospital for Children. All three were in critical condition.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the state fire marshal's office.
