Four Amigos Art Show At Wiley Art Center Featuring LeGrand, Fields, Justesen, and Allen

Last updated on Friday, August 21, 2015

(BEDFORD) - The Wiley Art Center in Bedford proudly announces a combined show with four southern Indiana artists: Wyatt LeGrand, David Fields, Sammie Denny Justesen, and Robert Allen.

The event will open with a reception on Friday August 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery and is sponsored by the Lawrence County Art Association.

Wyatt LeGrand is an award winning oil painter from Bloomfield who uses vivid color and an impressionistic technique to create vibrant landscape, cityscape, still-life, and figurative paintings. Wyatt first began painting with oils in college, soon establishing himself as a rising young artist. He also immersed himself in other art forms, becoming an accomplished draftsman, ceramicist, sculptor, and metalsmith. In July, 2015 he was accepted into the Hoosier Salon's 91st Annual Exhibition and won the Outstanding Scene award for his oil painting, Accumulate. He also has a second painting juried into the 2015 exhibition.

David Fields' work has been displayed in shows of the Hoosier Salon, Indiana Heritage Arts, Bloomington Art Guild, Brown County Art Gallery, and the annual Persimmon Festival show. His paintings can also be found in corporate, public, and private collections. David works with watercolor, acrylic, and pen and ink drawing. He is a long time member of LCAA and serves on the board of directors.

Sammie Denny Justesen, president of the Lawrence County Art Association, paints in acrylic, watercolor, colored pencil, and pen and ink. She studied with Western watercolor artist Nelson Boren and enjoys experimenting with abstract designs, bright colors, and mixed media compositions.

Artist Robert Allen is a favorite with Lawrence County residents. His acrylic paintings featuring rural scenes and the four seasons have won awards and are always popular with the public. Robert is also a long time member of LCAA and serves on the board of directors. He draws and paints in a realistic style with the precision of an engineer (his profession).

The Four Amigos' show ends on Saturday, September 19. Located at 1402 J Street in Bedford, the gallery is open on Thursdays and Fridays from 1 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
