(DUGGER) - Crews responded to another fire that erupted in an unoccupied house that sits on property owned by a local mining operation.

The Sullivan Daily Times reports that Union Fire Protection Territory responded around 1 p.m. Sunday to a fire on State Road 159 just north of its intersection with Sullivan County County Road 500S near Dugger, on property that Sullivan County 911 Dispatch staff says is owned by Bear Run Mine.

This is the second time the fire department has been called to a fire on Bear Run property.

On July 15, UFPT responded around 5:15 a.m. to a property located at 5446 East County Road 300S, Dugger.

UFPT Assistant Chief David Heaton says someone from the coal mine thought they saw headlights in the area around 5 a.m. that day. The fire department was called to the scene a short time later.

None of the houses had power.

Chief Heaton says arson is suspected in that case, but the State Fire Marshal was not contacted because the house was eventually going to be demolished.
