(DAVIESS CO.) - Daviess County Highway officials say county Road 650 east will be closed Monday from Old US 50 to County Road 175 South.
The road will close around 8 a.m for a pipe replacement project.
A grand opening ceremony is scheduled for Thursday at 11 a.m. for a new Indiana Railroad bridge that stretches over the White River in Greene County north of Elnora.
The new White River Bridge represents a vital $14 million investment for sustaining southwest Indiana commerce and future economic development.
The bridge allows for 40 mph rail operations and industry-maximum freight car weights.
The bridge it replaces, an 1899-built bridge with speed and weight restrictions, put major employers and shippers from Daviess County south to the Ohio River at a competitive disadvantage in the marketplace.
