City Of Bloomington Accepting Applications For 2016 Community Development Block Grants

(BLOOMINGTON) - Applications for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program are now available to organizations for the 2016 Program Year.

CDBG funding is federal community development assistance dollars provided annually to the City by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Applications can be picked up in the Housing and Neighborhood Development Department office, 401 N. Morton Street, Suite 130, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., or downloaded online at http://bloomington.in.gov/cdbgapp.

Local CDBG funded programs administered by the Housing and Neighborhood Development Department are divided into two categories: physical improvements and social services. Organizations applying for a CDBG funds must serve city residents whose household income is less than 80% of the area median income.

Organizations interested in submitting proposals for CDBG funding must first submit a "Letter of Intent" to the Housing and Neighborhood Development Department, 401 N. Morton St., Ste. 130 by 4:00pm on October 9, 2015. An informational meeting for potential applicants will be held on Thursday September 3, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall, 401 N. Morton St. in the McCloskey Room, Ste. 135
