Bloomington Woman Arrested After Found In CVS Pharmacy After Hours

Last updated on Tuesday, August 4, 2015

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington woman was arrested Friday after officers found her with a shopping cart full of merchandise inside the CVS Pharmacy 30 minutes after the store had closed.

Police found the woman's husband in the parking lot waiting for her, eating pizza and watching movies on his cellphone.

He told police she had went into the store to buy a folder for their daughter.

According to a Bloomington Police report, the burglar alarm sounding inside the store alerted police of a possible break in.

When police arrived they could see 39-year-old Kimberly Jean Enochs inside putting items into a shopping cart.

The manager of the store was called and let police inside.

They found Enochs with more than $680 of merchandise in the shopping cart, a bag and her purse.

A loud burglar alarm was sounding inside the store, police said, but the woman said she did not hear it.

Enochs told police she heard an announcement that "the store was closing in five minutes," but had continued shopping and lost track of time.

When she realized she was locked inside, she told police that she shouted for a clerk to check her out but no one came.

But police say they believe Enochs hid in the store until employees had gone.

Enochs told police the items they found in her purse she had purchased at Walmart, but she had no receipt for the items. Police say the items had markings on them indicating they were CVS products.

Enochs was arrested on a charge of felony theft. She posted a $2,000 bond early Saturday morning and was released from the Monroe County Jail.
