Bloomfield Woman Allegedly Missing Was In Jail

Last updated on Thursday, August 20, 2015

(BLOOMFIELD) - A Bloomfield woman who was allegedly missing according to numerous posts on Facebook, but who was not reported to law enforcement as a missing person, was arrested Monday and booked into the Monroe County Jail.

Police say that 47-year-old Sherry Reed was arrested Monday night on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated. She was booked into the jail at 7 p.m. Monday evening.

She was released early Tuesday morning after posting a $500 cash bond.

A digital flyer had been posted on Facebook that appeared as though it might have been issued or approved by a law enforcement agency. It advertised that Reed was missing, was believed to be in danger and it asked for tips to be emailed or called in to the Bloomfield Police Department.

The incident is still under investigation.
