(BEDFORD) - A Bedford teen was injured on Wednesday after she lost control of the vehicle she was driving, left the roadway and struck some trees.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 19-year-old Macy Nikirk was traveling north on Dixie Highway about 1000 feet south of Old State Road 50 when she lost control of the 203 Honda Pilot she was driving when the vehicle dropped off the east edge of the roadway.

Police say Nikirk overcorrected attempting to steer back onto the roadway. The vehicle slid sideways off the west side of the road and crashed into trees.

Nikirk, who was wearing a seat belt, complained of neck pain, but declined medical attention after her father, who is a paramedic arrived on the scene.
