(SPRINGVILLE) - Lawrence County Police Department detectives are investigating an alleged rape that happened at the 35th Annual ABATE Boogie.
According to Sheriff Mike Branham, the department received a report at 3:08 a.m. Saturday that a woman had been raped at the boogie and that she was at the gates to the boogie grounds and needed assistence.
"The 25-year-old woman was found wondering around with no clothes on," says Branham. "The woman told police she had been raped by an unknown male. The woman was severely impaired."
She was taken to IU Health Hospital for an examination and evidence was collected.
Police have no suspects at this time.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department.
