Two Injured After Deer Runs Into Path Of Car

(BEDFORD) - Two people were injured after a motorist attempted to avoid striking a deer early Friday morning.

According to a Lawrence County Police report, 32-year-old Michael Gillespie of Bedford was traveling west on John Williams Boulevard, east of Bellback Road, when a deer ran into the path of his 2005 Ford Taurus.

Gillespie swerved to miss the deer, causing the car to travel over a curb and embankment. The car then struck a tree.

Gillespie and his passenger 32-year-old Stacy Dixon of Bedford were both knocked unconscious. Gillespie complained of head pain and Dixon complained of stomach pain. Both were taken to St. Vincent Dunn Hospital for treatment.
