Spring Mill State Park To Host Pioneer Heritage Days

(MITCHELL) - Experience 19th century life at Spring Mill State Park’s Pioneer Heritage Days, August 1-2.

Visitors can watch pioneer reenactors weave, quilt, spin wool, blacksmith, make brooms and more.

Hands-on programs with park staff and volunteers also will be available. Program times will be posted at the park office and grist mill.

On Aug. 2 the park will host its annual quilt show from noon to 4 p.m. in the Pioneer Village. Quilters who would like to work on a project in the Pioneer Village during the show or who have a traditional quilt to display should contact Coletta Prewitt at (812) 849-3534 or springmillstatepark@dnr.IN.gov.

Park admission is $7 per in-state vehicle and $9 per out-of-state vehicle.
