(BLOOMINGTON) - A Bloomington man was arrested after he fled from police on his motorcycle Tuesday night.
According to a Bloomington Police report, the chase ended when 57-year-old Ted Coster crashed his motorcycle after hitting a tree limb lying in the middle of Fairfax Road.
Coster, who was not wearing helmet, was conscious and suffered an injury to his left arm. He was taken to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment.
According to police, officers were conducting a drug investigation at 11 p.m. when Coster stopped at the home and then left.
Officers attempted to pull Coster over after they discovered he was driving on a suspended driver's license and suspected Coster had bought drugs at the home.
Coster refused to stop and sped away driving south on Walnut Street. He then turned onto Fairfax Road where the bike struck the down tree limb.
Police say Coster did have a small amount of heroin.
Coster will face charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of narcotics and driving while his license was suspended.
