(LOOGOOTEE) - Loogootee Superintendent Dr. Joan Keller has voluntarily suggested her salary and vacation days be reduced 25 percent over the next two years.

According to the Washington Herald, Keller earned $97,308 during the first year of her contract as superintendent, which ended on June 30. She also had 20 paid vacation days.

This school year, Keller requested her salary be reduced to $76,723, while her vacation days will be cut to 15. In the third and final year of her initial contract, Keller asked to be paid $72,981.

During the final two years of her contract, Keller will be required to work a minimum of 180 days, which is 10 less than required the first year.

Board President Nancy Summers confirmed that Keller had voluntarily requested the salary and vacation day reduction.

The board will vote on whether to approve the contract changes during its August 18 meeting.
