(SEYMOUR) - A woman with only her shirt on was arrested after police found her stuck in a tree on the northwest side of Seymour on Wednesday.
Police arrested 36-year-old Amanda Woods on felony charges of public nudity, resisting law enforcement and attempted escape.
Police were called to the 600 block of East Drive after a report of a woman stuck in a tree yelling for help.
Seymour Police Chief Bill Abbott says that when officers arrived they found Woods in the tree wearing only her shirt.
"She had her foot stuck in the fork of the tree and had fell back and was holding herself in place," Abbott added. "This happened outside the home of the woman's boyfriend. He had no idea she was stuck in the tree."
Firefighters brought out a ladder and freed Woods' foot. After she started to come down, she apparently changed her mind and started going back up the tree.
"An officer grabbed her foot and was able to pull her down," Abbott added.
Woods was taken to Schneck Medical Center but refused medical treatment. She was given scrubs to wear.
Officers arrested Woods and had placed her in the backseat of the police cruiser, but as the officer was getting into the driver's seat, Woods was able to get out of the vehicle and took off running.
She was caught a short-time later and taken to jail.
