Gerkin, Hall, Mosson Named To Class A All-Star Team

(ORLEANS) - Burton Gerkin, Cale Hall and Jason Mosson have been named to the Class A All-Star Team by the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association.

Hall made the team at catcher. He batted .415 (49-118) with five home runs and 45 runs batted in, led the team with 16 doubles and 51 runs. Hall also played shortstop and pitcher for the Bulldogs, going 3-2 on the mound. Hall will play baseball and basketball at Olney Central College (Ill.), where he will major in business.

Mosson was selected as an outfielder. Mosson batted .440 (48-109) with five home runs and 44 RBI. He led the team with a .734 slugging percentage and a whopping 1.234 OPS, but his biggest contribution to the team came on the mound where he finished 10-1 with a 0.80 ERA. He will also be attending Olney Central College to major in law enforcement.

Gerkin, the Bulldogs' first baseman, batted a team-best .475 (48-101) and led the squad with 46 RBI. He smashed two home runs, finished with a .525 OBP and a 1.169 OPS. Gerkin will take his baseball talents to Rose-Hulman where he will study mechanical engineering.

Hall will compete for the South All-Stars, coached by Orleans Coach Mark Wheeler, at Indiana State University July 9-11.
