Gallery Walk Features Local Artist And Musicians

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Revitalization Inc. Gallery Walk will feature local artist and musicians on the Lawrence County Courthouse Square Friday and Saturday.

Organizer Tara Jones says activities will range from limestone etching to a pool tournament and music performances at Harp Common stage.

Local art will be on display at Wiley Center for Art, Stone Cutters Cafe & Roastery and Ginger Threads.

The finals for the Bedford's Got Talent competition will be Friday at 6 p.m. at Harp Commons.

Winners will walk away with cash prizes and will be the opening acts for Bedford native Jeff Day, who will headline Saturday night.

Saturday's events will begin with the Farmers' Market and a yoga session by Kara Ratcliff on the Harp Commons Lawn from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. The class is open to all ages and cost $5. Participants are asked to bring their own yoga mat.

The Stone City Quilt Guild will have an exhibit at Ginger Threads starting at 9 a.m. and a robotics display also is planned.

A mini-mural limestone competition will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Harp Commons. Those wishing to participate can pick up a slab of limestone and contest rules at Wiley House Thursday and Friday from 1-6 p.m.

An 8-ball billiards tourney will begin at the Bedford Pool Hall at 6 p.m. Saturday. The entry fee is $5 with prizes awarded to the top three finishers.

Olde Downtown Tavern will serve refreshments in the Beer Garden during Saturday night's musical performance and dining will be available at Limestone Cafe, Stone Cutters, and Downtown Stone Pig Smokehouse.

Becky Sprinkle and Paul Christian will perform at the Limestone Cafe beginning at 6 p.m. Friday.

There is still room for more artists and musicians to participate in the event.
