First Greene County Health Fair Accepting Participants

Last updated on Thursday, July 30, 2015

(LINTON) - The Hamilton Center has partnered with Greene County General Hospital for the first annual Greene County Health Fair, and they are currently encouraging potential vendors to submit applications.

The 2015 Greene County Health Fair will be held on Saturday, September 12 at the Roy Clark Community Building in Linton's Humphreys Park from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Tatu Brown of the Hamilton Center says the fair will host a wide range of activities including free health screenings, a dunk tank, hamburgers and hot dogs, a football toss, music, a bounce house, and adult tricycle races.

Brown says they will be seeking any vendor who wishes to participate.

"The Roy Clark Building can hold about 23 vendors inside, and we will take five to 15 more vendors outside," Brown said.

Currently the businesses and individuals who have signed up for the Greene County Health Fair include the Linton Family Pharmacy, Linton Miners football team, Linton Police Department, Linton Fire Department, Linton Mayor John Wilkes, Pregnancy Choices, and two nursing homes.

"We are getting a dunking booth and Mayor Wilkes has agreed to get dunked, possibly by his challenger. We are trying to have some fun. The Linton Miner football coach said his players are on board with being dunked, and he might be dunked as well," Brown said.

One other event the Greene County Health Fair will host will involve an adult tricycle race with drunk goggles.

There is a vendor form available at the Linton-Stockton Chamber of Commerce. Each vendor will be provided with a long, undecorated table. On the form, it asks the potential vendor a few simple questions regarding additional requirements and contact information.

Brown is also seeking a musical act for the fair.
