Last updated on Wednesday, July 22, 2015

(CINCINNATI) - A stretch of Ind. 45 in Greene County near Cincinnati was closed to traffic for about 20 hours this week while crews cleaned up an estimated 30,000 pounds of auto parts after a semi-truck and trailer overturned.

Indiana State Police and Greene County deputies responded to the crash on Monday at 8:20 p.m.

According to an Indiana State Police report, 66-year-old Paul Martin of Corydon, KY. was traveling north on Ind. 45 at Cox Road when he lost control of his 2015 Kenworth T680 truck. The trailer went off the road, north of Cox Road, and the truck was then pulled off the roadway. The truck then flipped counter-clockwise and landed on its top.

Martin was trapped inside the wreckage but was extricated by emergency first responders from the Center Fire Department. Martin, who suffered head and back pain, was taken by the Greene County Ambulance Service to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for treatment.

Motorists were diverted to sing SR 45/445 (north) and SR 45/54 (south) during the cleanup.
