(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Police is asking the for the public's help in solving a robbery at the Marathon Station on 16th Street Thursday night.

According to Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley, officers were called to the business later Thursday night after the two owners reported they had been robbed.

Officers were called to the station just after 11:30 p.m.

The owners say a man approached them as they were getting into their vehicle, told them he had a handgun, and demanded that they give him all of the money.

"The owners gave the man a German American bank bag containing more than $1,500," Parsley says. "The man then ran south behind the business. No one was hurt in the robbery."

Officers searched the area and a police dog was able to track the man for a while until the dog lost the scent behind other businesses in the area.

The police has no leads, but is reviewing video footage from businesses in the area.

Anyone with information about the man or the robbery is asked to call the Bedford Police Department at (812) 275-3311.
