(UNDATED) - The Fourth of July may not be until Saturday, but you can start celebrating with fireworks now.
Monday was the first day you can legally shoot off your own fireworks under state law, as long as there are no city or county laws that prevent you from doing so.
You also can celebrate the nation's independence well after the 4th, as the State Fire Marshal's office says personal fireworks use is allowed until July 9.
There are some restrictions on where and when you can light up the Roman candles. It has to be done on your property or a special location designated by a local government. Lighting firecrackers on someone else's property without their permission can result in a fine of up to $500.
The hours in which fireworks are allowed are also somewhat restricted. For each day of the window except for July 4, fireworks can be shot off from 9:00am until two hours after sunset. On the 4th, the hours are 9am until midnight.
