Last updated on Thursday, June 18, 2015

(BEDFORD) - Students in kindergarten through third grade can enjoy Super Hero Adventure Time at 2 p.m. today at the Bedford Public Library.

Youngsters can hear a story, make a super hero costume, find and eliminate kryptonite and practice super hero skills.

On Tuesday, the Department of Natural Resources will offer "Creek Critters" at 2 p.m. for children in kindergarten through second grade and at 3:30 p.m. for those in grade three and above. Children can explore water tanks to see what kind of "critters" live in local ponds. They will be able to touch and examine the pond creatures.

Wednesday, teenagers can tie-dye T-shirts at 2 p.m. All teens are welcome to bring their own cotton shirts and make their own swirls and designs.

The Teen Writing Group will meet from 4-5 p.m. June 25. All teens who like to write are encouraged to attend. Pizza and drinks will be served.

The library provides activities during summer meals on Tuesdays at Oolitic Middle School and on Thursdays at Bedford Middle School. Every Wednesday, Bridget the Reading Dog visits Bedford Middle School during the summer lunch program.

June is audiobook month. The library offers downloadable audiobooks from the library website, www.bedlib.org, as well as through Overdrive and hoopla.
