State To Make Effort To Help Victims Affected By Crime

Last updated on Wednesday, June 10, 2015

(UNDATED) - The state of Indiana is making an effort to help victims affected by crime.

The Indiana Attorney General's Office now offers a new division known as the 'Victim Services and Outreach' Division.
The new tier will provide resources to victims of human trafficking, domestic violence and sexual assault.

Part of the new division is the 'Victim Advocates Network.' The group will provide information and training to other victim-services groups and advocates throughout the state.

"It's our Indiana constitution that requires we focus on the victims of the crimes as well," explained Indiana Attorney General, Greg Zoeller. "And I think this is an effort to try to do more on what our constitution promises."

Zoeller will be traveling throughout the state, meeting with other service-providers, to develop the victim advocates' network.
