Last updated on Friday, June 5, 2015

(GREENE CO.) - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces a road closure for State Road 48 between Jasonville and Worthington for a pipe replacement project.

Depending upon weather conditions, crews will close the road between County Road 700 West and Count Road 650 West beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, June 8.

Workers will perform an excavation of an existing 36-inch culvert pipe that runs across State Road 48. Crews will remove a section of the road and replace it after work is finished.

The project is expected to take about a week.

The road will be completely closed to through traffic during the project; however, local traffic will have access to the point of closure.

The official detour for heavy highway traffic follows State Road 157 and State Road 59 - Westbound traffic should take State Road 157 north to State Road 59 south. Eastbound traffic should take State Road 59 north to State Road 157 south.
