(SALEM) - Fundraisers to benefit 17-year-old Trenton Miller of Salem are ongoing.

On Sunday, May 24, Trenton suffered severe head, chest and facial trauma after running his Kawasaki Prairie four-wheeler off the road, where it hit a tree and threw him from the vehicle. He was flown to the University of Louisville Hospital, where, as of Tuesday morning, he is in critical, but stable, condition.

"The pressure on his brain has remained under 20 most of the day yesterday and all through the night," says an update from Brent Miller on the TrentonStrong Facebook page. "Trenton's chest tube was removed Monday. The doctors are most likely going to remove the breathing tube from his mouth. Please continue to pray for Trenton and the doctors and nurses who will be performing the tracheotomy. Everyday of our journey with Trenton has been filled with peaks and valleys. Those valleys are getting easier to cross with help of your prayers, prayer cloths and prayer blankets. God bless you all. God is good."

The Salem Democrat reports, a poker ride to benefit Trenton will be held July 25 at the Sheriff's Department at noon, with registration being from 10 a.m. Cost is $10 for a single rider and $15 for a couple. The ride will end at 4 p.m. at the fairgrounds, where the FOP lodge will sell dinner for $7 a plate. Local band Bad Weather will perform following the meal. There will also be an auction featuring items donated from local businesses and Brooklyn Graham will be donating her auctioneer services.

Organizers are still looking for auction items, which could include gift certificates and gift baskets. If you or an organization you belong to would like to put together a basket to donate, contact Melissa Burton at 812-896-6209 or Eric Mills or Scott Ratts at the Salem Police Department. You can also Facebook message Burton or Haley Keltner for more information or to arrange for a donation.

Tthe community can help the Miller family by eating pizza from Papa John's on Thursday. The Salem location will be donating $1 per pizza to the Miller family that day.

The Washington County Sheriff's Department is selling raffle tickets for Henry Cowboy Lever Action 22-caliber rifles. Tickets are $10 each, available for purchase at Wilcox Wrecker Service on Joseph Street in Salem, and two will be drawn as winners. No date has been set for the drawing, but the goal is to sell 1,000 tickets.
