(BLOOMINGTON) - A storage area at the Monroe County Correctional Center will be renovated to create a mental health unit.
The Monroe County Board of Commissioners approved a contract with Neidigh Construction Corp. to begin work on four new cells that will provide six new beds on the facility's first floor. Once the storage area is cleared construction will begin.
The work is expected to take about 90 days to complete at a cost of $354,000.
