Linton Man Charged For Failing To Register As Sex Offender

Last updated on Monday, June 22, 2015

(LINTON) - A Linton man was arrested and charged with two counts of failure to register as a sex offender.

Michael Bush, 39, was formally charged on felony counts of failure to register as a sex offender and failure to register as a sex offender with a prior conviction for failure to register.

According to a probable cause affidavit Bush was contacted by the sexual offender registrar at the Greene County Sheriff Department. Bush had been living in Daviess County and was registered there, but on June 8 the registrar was contacted by Daviess County officials saying they had not be able to contact Bush since March and that Bush had changed his phone number, place of employment, and had disappeared out of Daviess County and was believed to be living in Linton.

On June 14, Greene County officials discovered Bush had gotten married and living and working in Linton.

Bush told police he had not registered because he had no working vehicle and could not get to the sheriff's department.

Police say Holt failed to register in 2010 and was convicted of the crime in Lawrence County on Feb. 22, 2011.

According to court records Bush was ordered to register as a sexual offender after a conviction in Lawrence County of felony sexual battery, in 2004 and is required to register until December 2015.
