(PEKIN) - At approximately 9:36 p.m. on Saturday, the Washington County Sheriff's Department received a 911 call from the residence located at 1145 North Eastern School Road in Pekin, reporting an alleged break-in and assault.

When deputies arrived they found a male with lacerations to the neck and face who alleged he had been attacked and that the suspect had fled the area. After a short search, a second male was located laying in a rocky ditch line located across the street on Eastern School property.

Indiana State Police detectives and a crime scene technician were dispatched to the scene and joined in the investigation at the request of the sheriff's department.

The alleged victim was transported by ground ambulance to Floyd Memorial Hospital where he was later released. The alleged suspect was flown to University of Louisville Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and was also later released.

This case is still under investigation.

ISP detectives are conducting further interviews and crime scene analysis.
