(BLOOMINGTON) - An Indiana University football player was arrested after an Indiana State Police investigation resulted in finding drugs at his home.

Troopers arrested 20-year-old Antonio L. Allen II on felony charges of dealing meth, dealing heroin, dealing cocaine all with a firearm, possession of meth, possession of meth, possession of cocaine and maintaining a common nuisance.

Allen, who has been suspended from the team, was to enter his junior season and was the Hoosiers' top tackler last season with 74, including 45 solo tackles. The Ben Davis High School graduate was a featured member of IU's touted 2013 recruiting class and played in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.

Allen was arrested after troopers served a search warrant at a home at 421 East 19th Street.

Allen was arrested without incident and taken to the Monroe County Jail.

The Bloomington Police Department along with the Indiana University Police Department assisted with the search warrant.

The IU Department of Athletics issued the following statement:

"Indiana University Athletics and the IU football program are aware of the arrest of junior defensive back Antonio Allen. Allen has been suspended from all football activities effective immediately. We will continue to gather facts, monitor the legal process, and take further action as the evolving situation warrants."

This is the third off-field incident involving an IU football player in the past three months. Defensive tackle Ralph Green III was arrested in April on charges of battery, public intoxication and disorderly conduct. Wide receiver Isaac Griffith was arrested last month on charges of driving while intoxicated.
