Heltonville Man Killed After Crashing Motorcycle

(BLOOMINGTON) - A Heltonville man died Friday night after crashing his motorcycle in the 5200 block of South Fairfax Road.

According to a Monroe County Sheriff's Department press release, 37-year-old Clinton Ryan was traveling on South Fairfax Road when he laid the motorcycle down crossing the center line and traveling 165 feet before he struck a Ford Explorer driving the opposite direction head-on.

Ryan's passenger, 40-year-old Rachel Roberts of Solsberry, was also injured during the incident.

Both were transported to IU Health Bloomington.

Ryan was pronounced dead upon arrival. Roberts was flown by helicopter to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, and was listed in critical condition.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, who was not named in the press release, complained of wrist pain, but was not transported to the hospital.
