Entries Being Accepted For July 4 Orleans Bicentennial Parade And Tractor Show

(ORLEANS) - Entries are being accepted for the upcoming July 4th Orleans Bicentennial Parade.

The parade is set for Saturday, July 4 and will begin at noon and will begin with lineup at 9 a.m. till 11 a.m. at the Orleans High School. Judging will begin at 11 a.m.

Categories include floats, political, walking, equestrian, classic and/or antique vehicle, bands etc. Everyone is welcome to participate.

The Parade will make its way down Maple Street (Ind. 37 South) and through the historic downtown area.

Entry forms may be obtained by visiting the Orleans 200 website www.orleans200.org Entry forms also will be available from The Orleans Progress Examiner, The Orleans Library and Orleans Town offices.

Events celebrating the 200th anniversary of the founding of Orleans will continue throughout the summer.

Among them will be the Orleans Bicentennial Tractor Show planned for July 4. The show will begin at 9 a.m. on Congress Square and will be one of a number of events planned for the holiday weekend.

The farmers' market will be open and a car show also is planned.
