Daviess Co. Has No Active Democrat Candidates In Nov. Election For City Offices

Last updated on Wednesday, June 10, 2015

(DAVIESS CO.) - Saying he tried as hard as he could, Daviess County Democrat Chairman Dave Crooks says he has no active prospects to run for office in the city election in November.

The Mayor, Clerk Treasurer and four city council seats all held by Republicans will be unopposed on the fall ballot.

Crooks says his party will continue supporting their current Democrat council members Blake Chambers and Joe Fleck. In addition, Bill Walton is running for council district 5 currently held by GOP councilman Jim Greene who is not running for re-election. Sierra Deckard is the Republican on that ballot.

Crooks says there will be no caucus this month and the June and July meetings are cancelled. The democrat party won't meet again until August 11th.
